Naumbourg, Samuel
(1815-80)
   German musicol-ogist. He was born in Dennelohe, near Ansbach. He became the first hazzan at the synagogue in the rue Notre-Dame-de-Nazareth in Paris in 1845. Two years later he published two volumes of Zemirot Yisrael, which contain musical settings of the entire liturgical cycle. His Agudas Shirim is a collection of traditional synagogue melodies.
